The Phone System and the Network It Runs On
Servall integrates telephony from traditional systems through to VoIP, and installs the cabling and switching that decides whether it sounds good.
Telephony and VoIP
Business Phone Systems and VoIP in the GTA
Servall integrates telephony services that enable clear communication inside and beyond the organization, ranging from traditional systems to VoIP depending on what the business needs. Because we also install the structured cabling and networking, the handset and the network behind it get specified together. Telephony sits within our wider integrated technology solutions practice, alongside cabling, security and AV.

Why Phone Quality Is Usually a Network Problem
When a VoIP deployment sounds bad, the phone system is rarely the cause. Call quality is decided by the switching, the PoE budget, how traffic is prioritized and how the cabling was terminated. That is the part most phone vendors do not touch, and it is the part we already do.
VoIP migration
Moving from a traditional PBX to VoIP, including number porting, handset rollout and the cutover plan. The objective is a switchover users notice because the handsets changed, not because calls dropped.
Traditional and hybrid systems
Not every site is ready to move entirely to VoIP. Where analogue lines still serve elevators, alarm panels or fax, we keep what has to stay and migrate the rest.
Handsets, headsets and conference audio
Desk handsets, softphone headsets and meeting room audio, including Logitech and Q-SYS equipment for boardrooms and multi-zone spaces.
The network underneath
PoE switching sized for the handset count, traffic prioritization so voice is not competing with backups, and cabling that will carry it. Servall installs this layer too, so there is no handoff between the phone vendor and the cabling contractor.
Multi-site and remote workers
Extensions that follow people between offices and home, with one dial plan across locations rather than a separate system per site.
Support, moves, adds and changes
Adding extensions, reconfiguring call flow and moving handsets as teams change, handled under the same account as the rest of your Servall infrastructure.
Questions
Phone System Questions We Get Asked
Is VoIP always cheaper than a traditional phone system?
The line costs are usually lower, but that is not the whole picture. A VoIP rollout can require PoE switching, network changes and in some buildings new cabling. Over a typical replacement cycle it generally still comes out ahead. It is worth getting the upfront number before assuming the saving starts in month one.
What do we need in place before moving to VoIP?
Enough upstream bandwidth with consistent latency, switching that can power the handsets, traffic prioritization so voice is protected, and cabling to each position. Checking these before the handsets arrive is what separates a smooth cutover from a bad fortnight.
Can we keep our existing phone numbers?
In almost all cases, yes. Numbers are ported across to the new service. Porting is scheduled rather than instant, so it is planned into the cutover with the old service staying live until it completes.
Can you support a mix of office and remote staff?
Yes. One of the practical advantages of VoIP is that an extension belongs to the person rather than the desk, so the same number and call handling follow someone between office, home and mobile.
Which areas does Servall cover?
Servall is based in Woodbridge and works across Vaughan, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham and the surrounding Greater Toronto Area.
