One Integrator for Access, Video and Alarms
Servall designs and installs commercial security systems that work together, rather than three products from three vendors sharing a building.
Commercial Security
Commercial Security Systems for Ontario Businesses
Servall provides alarm systems, key fob access control and video surveillance with analytics, working with platform vendors including Alarm.com, OpenEye, PDK and AXIS. Installations are carried out by manufacturer-certified technicians and integrate with the infrastructure you already have. Security sits within our wider integrated technology solutions practice, alongside structured cabling, AV and building systems.

A Security System That Behaves Like One System
Most commercial sites end up with security in layers: cameras from one installer, a door controller from the alarm company, and a fob system nobody has the software for any more. The cost of that shows up the day you need footage from a specific door at a specific time, and three systems have to be cross-referenced by hand.
Access control systems
Key fob and credential-based access control, letting you manage and monitor entry points, issue and revoke credentials, and see who went where. These systems integrate with existing infrastructure rather than requiring a parallel one.
Video surveillance and analytics
Local, remote and cloud-based video surveillance. Analytics add search and alerting on top of recording, which is the difference between having footage and being able to find the thirty seconds you actually need.
Intrusion detection and alarm systems
Commercial intrusion detection and smart alarm systems, specified for the premises rather than scaled down from a residential product.
Cloud, on-premise or both
Cloud recording suits multi-site operations and sites without a secure equipment room. On-premise suits bandwidth-constrained sites and retention policies that require footage to stay in the building. We will size either, or run them together.
Working with equipment already installed
Where existing cameras or controllers are still serviceable, we would rather integrate them than bill you to replace them. What can be retained depends on the make and firmware, which is what the site assessment establishes.
Multi-site and remote management
A single interface across locations, so access rights and footage are managed centrally instead of building by building.
Questions
Commercial Security Questions We Get Asked
What does a commercial security system normally include?
For most businesses it is three things working together: access control on the doors, video surveillance covering entrances and sensitive areas, and intrusion detection for out of hours. The value is in the integration. An access event and the footage of that door at that moment should be one lookup, not two.
Should video recording be in the cloud or on site?
Cloud makes multi-site management and remote access straightforward, and removes the on-site recorder as a single point of failure. On-premise keeps footage in the building, which some retention and privacy policies require, and avoids a continuous upload load on your internet connection. Camera count, retention period and upstream bandwidth usually settle it.
Can you work with cameras we already have?
Often, yes. Whether existing cameras can be brought into a new system depends on the make, the protocol they support and the firmware they are running. That is one of the things a site assessment is for.
Which areas does Servall cover?
Servall is based in Woodbridge and works across Vaughan, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Markham and the surrounding Greater Toronto Area.
