Cybersecurity
Cybersecurity Services in Woodbridge and Vaughan
Servall is based in Woodbridge and protects businesses across Vaughan and the GTA. We are authorized to provide solutions from Arctic Wolf, Barracuda, Fortinet, Qualys, Orna, AvePoint, Cisco and Meraki, and we deploy and manage them rather than simply reselling a licence.

Tools Are Not a Security Programme
Most businesses that get breached owned security software at the time. The gap is rarely the product. It is that nobody was watching the alerts at 2am, the backups had not been tested, or an account belonging to someone who left in March still worked. What follows is the unglamorous part, and it is the part that decides the outcome.
Managed detection and response
Monitoring that continues outside business hours, through a managed service rather than a dashboard nobody opens. This is where Arctic Wolf fits for most of our clients.
Email and perimeter security
Email remains the most common way in. Filtering, phishing protection and firewall policy, deployed with Barracuda and Fortinet and tuned to how your people actually work.
Backup and recovery you have tested
Backup only counts once a restore has been proven. We configure protected backups, including Microsoft 365 data through AvePoint, and we test the restore rather than assuming it.
Vulnerability scanning and patching
Knowing what is unpatched across the estate, and closing it on a schedule. Qualys for scanning, and our managed service for the remediation that follows.
Access, identity and offboarding
Multi-factor authentication, least-privilege access and a leaver process that actually revokes accounts. Stale credentials from departed staff are one of the most common findings in any review.
Device retirement as a security control
A retired laptop with a readable drive is a breach waiting to be reported. Our life cycle management covers certified erasure with per-device records, which closes the end of the chain most security programmes ignore.
Questions
Cybersecurity Questions We Get Asked
We are a small business. Are we actually a target?
Most attacks are not targeted at a particular company. They are automated, scanning for an unpatched system or a reused password, and they find small businesses because small businesses are easier. Size affects how much you can spend on security, not whether you are reachable.
What is the single highest-value thing to fix first?
For most organizations it is multi-factor authentication on email and remote access, followed by a backup you have actually restored from. Those two cover the most common ways an incident turns from an inconvenience into a shutdown. We will usually say this before recommending anything you have to buy.
Do you provide 24/7 monitoring, or just install the tools?
Both are available and they are genuinely different services. Deploying a security stack and monitoring it around the clock are separate commitments, and it is worth being clear which one you are buying. We will scope either, and tell you which we think fits your risk and budget.
Does cyber insurance require any of this?
Insurers increasingly ask about multi-factor authentication, backup practice, endpoint protection and patching at application and renewal, and answers can affect cover and premium. We can help you answer those questions accurately, which matters, because an inaccurate answer on a proposal form is its own problem.
Which areas does Servall cover?

Start With a Security Review
We will look at what you already have, tell you where the real gaps are, and only then talk about what is worth adding.
