Cabling Built to Outlast the Equipment You Plug Into It
Servall designs, installs and certifies structured cabling for new builds, renovations and live-office retrofits across the GTA.
Structured Cabling
Structured Cabling and Network Infrastructure in the GTA
Servall specializes in structured cabling installations, including CAT6, CAT6A and fibre optic cabling, to support fast and reliable data networking. Our work is backed by manufacturer-certified technicians and covers new construction, renovations and retrofits. Cabling sits within our wider integrated technology solutions practice, alongside security, AV and building systems.

What a Servall Cabling Installation Includes
Structured cabling is the one part of your network you cannot swap out over a weekend. Switches, access points and handsets all get replaced on their own cycles. The cabling behind the walls usually stays for the life of the tenancy, which is why the category you install and the quality of the termination matter more than the brand on the faceplate.
CAT6 and CAT6A copper
Horizontal and backbone copper for gigabit and multi-gigabit networks. CAT6A is the practical choice wherever you expect to run 10GBASE-T, or to power higher-draw PoE devices such as cameras, access points and displays over longer runs.
Fibre optic backbone
Single-mode and multi-mode fibre for riser, inter-building and data room links, where distance or electrical interference rules copper out.
New construction, renovation and retrofit
We work from drawings on new builds and from a site walkthrough on retrofits, including occupied offices where the existing network has to stay up until the cutover.
Testing, labelling and documentation
Runs are tested and handed over with a labelling schedule and an as-built record, so you have evidence of what was installed rather than an assurance.
Server room and rack build-out
Racks, patch panels, cable management and termination, organized and labelled so the next person to open the cabinet can follow it without tracing by hand.
Moves, adds and changes
Ongoing support for floor reconfigurations, desk moves and additional drops, without tendering the work to a new contractor each time.
Questions
Structured Cabling Questions We Get Asked
What is structured cabling?
It is a standardized cabling system for a building or campus, rather than a collection of point-to-point runs added as they were needed. Every run terminates at a patch panel in a known location, each one is labelled, and changes are made by repatching instead of pulling new cable. The benefit tends to show up years later, the first time something has to move.
Should I install CAT6 or CAT6A?
CAT6 handles gigabit comfortably and 10 gigabit over short runs. CAT6A is specified for 10GBASE-T across the full 100 metre channel and dissipates heat better when carrying PoE to cameras, access points and displays. If the cable is going into walls you do not plan to reopen, the price difference between the two is usually smaller than the cost of pulling it a second time.
Can you work in an occupied office?
Yes. Most retrofit work is in live offices. In practice that means staging the installation so the existing network stays up, and scheduling the cutover outside business hours.
Do I get test results when the job is finished?
Yes. Test results form part of the handover package, along with the labelling schedule and the as-built record.
Which areas does Servall cover?
